Article the First---Name

The name of the Household will be House Haldane.

Article the Second---Purpose

The purpose(s) of House Haldane will be as follows:

     v  To forge the leaders of tomorrow from the newcomers of today

     v  To make the spirit of Chivalry the lifeblood of the House

     v  To pledge that Nobility will encircle all of our doings

     v  To seek to gain knowledge and to pass that knowledge on to others

     v  To welcome all, to turn none away, and to make joy our constant companion

     v  To work for the Dream so that others may live it

Article the Third---Membership

Membership will be open to all worthy persons who wish to partake in the purposes of the Household.  The person must be nominated by two members.  Honorary Membership may be granted to any person upon the majority vote of all members.  If the members of the Household decide any member is no longer worthy of membership of the Household, whether through inactivity or other reason, they may, by unanimous vote, remove that member’s voting rights or, in extreme cases, strike him from the rolls of the Household.  Members of the Household who sign the Charter within six months from the date of this Charter will be known as Premier Companions.

Article the Fourth---Organization

The members will, at a time of their choosing, elect a Council to assist in the governance of the Household.  The Council will serve at the pleasure of the membership.  The members as a whole will always hold the authority and responsibility for the governance of the Household.  Both the election of new members and changes to the Charter must be ratified by a unanimous vote of the membership.
